The cost to private patients (telehealth) is $245 per session and the cost to private patients (face to face) is $235 per session. With a mental health care plan clients can receive a rebate of $149.05 per session for up to ten sessions per year. Joanne is able to submit the Medicare claim on your behalf and it is generally in your account within two business days. In an effort to make treatment as accessible as possible, the fee is well below the current recommended fee of $318, set by the Australian Psychological Society. There is no cost to those clients being seen through Work Cover or Compulsory Third Party or NDIS.
-
Payment is due at the time of the consultation. For in-person visits, the receptionist will process your payment at the end of the session using credit card, EFTPOS, or cash. For telehealth sessions, payment must be made prior to the session, typically via internet transfer.

We understand that appointments may need to be rescheduled occasionally. We kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, a cancellation fee of $100 will apply. This fee is necessary because the appointment time is specifically reserved for you, and it is unlikely that we can fill the slot with such short notice. We appreciate your understanding.

Joanne is a registered provider with most major health funds. It’s advisable to contact your health fund directly to confirm your level of cover. While you may be able to claim a rebate from your private health insurance, you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and private health insurance for the same session. Generally, the Medicare rebate is higher than private health insurance rebates, so most people use the Medicare rebate for the first ten sessions within a calendar year, and then use their private health insurance for any remaining sessions.
